Accounts & Insurance
We strongly recommend all patients who have private health insurance, to confirm the details of their policy, the precise level of cover and inform your health fund, that you are having a baby.
Suggested questions to ask your Health Fund are:
- What is my level of cover called?
- Does this level of cover, cover me for my pregnancy?
- Do I have any excess / co-payments with my level of cover?
- Will my level of cover, cover my baby, if admitted into Special Care Nursery?
- Is there an excess / co payment, for baby’s admission into Special Care Nursery?
- Is baby covered, should they require transfer to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, in another hospital?
Whist you are speaking with your health fund we suggest you check how your cover will assist you with other expenses, that you may occur during your stay in hospital, such as
- Obstetrician Fees
- Paediatrician Fees
- Anaesthetists Fees
- Pathology Fees
- Partner Accommodation Fees
